Indialantic is situated on the barrier island that separates the Indian River Lagoon from the Atlantic Ocean, and is approximately 35 miles in length. Today it is a quiet, primarily residential town with a population of just under 4,000 in its 1.3 square mile area (25% water). More than half of the income for its residents comes from interest, dividends, or rental properties.
